My All!

You are the one! You are my friend, my hero, my confidant, my guide, my light, my inspiration, my motivation, my encourager, my partner, my inner strength, my happiness, my sadness, my laughter, my luva, my beauty, my eye candy, my accountability, my responsibilty, my life, my breath, the mother of my children, my confidence, my dream come true, my anwser to prayer, my one and only love, my wife!
Babe I love you and want you to know how much I appreciate you! Flowers or dinners would not do justice to how much I appreciate and love all that you do.
You take care of both me and now the lil guy! I realize the time commitment that you endure day in and day out while I am working. The time you spend with Rykon is so precious and I am so thankful that you want to stay at home and take care of him. You have put your life to some extent on hold while we raise our children. I appreciate your devotion to our family and to raising Godly children. Each minute that you spend is just another minute that God blesses us with the opportunity to raise him in a good envrioment. You endure the ups the downs, the sickness, the crying, the dirty diapers, and the smiles. I just wanted to thank you in a different way than usual. I hope that a day never passes that I don't tell you that I love you, and I hope that a moment never passes that you don't feel appreciated! I love you today, tomorrow, and forever!

Gator Anyone?

Gator Gator fo fator, banana nana fo fator. green and yellow..... GATOR!
Ok the question that I poll the audience with is simply this.

When is a boy to young for his first green and yellow John Deere Gator?

I long for the day that he climbs into his first trusty Gator. His head filled with visions of transporting dirt and rocks from one job site (our backyard) to the other. He carefully loads his stout, and rugged friend with its 35 pound payload. As he strategically maneuvers it down the old dirt road aware of it's imperfections (dog poop). He pulls up to his destianation with a pure sense of joy. A joy that a man can atest to with a job well done. He unloads himself from his machinery, and pulls firmly on the lever to dump his cargo. His load is poured with pinpoint accuracy. The sweat from under his John Deere hat pauses for a momment on his brow. He looks up to his Foreman for approval. The Foreman looks down with a grin, picks him up, and tells him how proud he is of his accomplishments. After the boy recieves his accolades he crawls back on to his Gator, and repeats the process.
That is why I feel that after his 1st birthday that following spring. The boy and I will go and kick some tires and maybe test drive a few Gators. Then we will haggle a bit with the dealer, and eventually that afternoon the boy and I will drive his new Gator onto the jobsite (our driveway) and begin our chores.

Skiing?

Well I saw this picture today and it reminded me that I have not gone up on the hill to ski at all this season.

Downhill skiing is one of my favorite things to do, and I did not buy a pass this year simply because I was afraid I would not get to use it. Well I am glad I didn't because the truth is I would have probably only used it once thus far. Well it is funny how things change as your life moves forward. I sit here in my office at home while the little one takes a nap.
It is funny how things change so suddenly. I would not change it for the world, but it is funny how things change so fast. This just reminds me to hold on to each moment for the moment and not worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will worry about itself!

Prayers answered!

Well let me give you a quick update about Synergy.
1st week 32 people.
2nd week 45 people.
3rd week 56 people.
Well that is a huge anwser to all of your prayers! Along with that we met another group that is running around 50 that meets on Wednesday nights. I got to talk with the leader of the group, and he talked about his vision, and the things God has been giving him visions about. Well it is a God thing because they were exactly the same things I feel God has given us a vision of. Wow are you kidding it is so amazing to see what God is doing on a very liberal campus. We are talking about helping one another out, but what is even crazier to think about is the leader whose name is Mark talked to me on tuesday night about what he thinks God is going to do. He talked to me about Nazareth. You know the little town where Jesus was from. Well if you really study Nazareth you will realize that this was a small town kind of an armpit of everyone else right. Well this town wasn't really known for anything and really nothing was ever expected to come out of it. Well he said look at Boise. We are kind of the same way. I mean if you go anywhere outside the borders of Idaho and you tell people where you are from they quickly say "Potato Land" or something like that. Well up until this last year or two some people are starting to think about it where Boise State Football has become a popluar item around the country. Anyways he feels and believes, and strangly enough this is what I envisioned a long time ago, that Boise will be the next Nazareth. Think about it. This will be the place where a great movement will start, and will affect, Eugene, then Portland, down to Salt Lake, to Seattle, to Denver, to California etc. You get the idea. Well God does use the weak things, or the small things for the biggest things to fullfill his Will. So be proud if you are either living in Idaho, or are from Idaho. We are on the move and we are going to see God move in this valley ironically called the "Treasure Valley". Maybe think of it this way. Why do you think all of these people are moving to Boise, and the surrounding areas? I truly believe it is more than just finding cheaper homes, and a safer place to raise their kids. Look threw it all and you will see His presence amongst us and our entire valley. Are you ready? Are you like Eleazar with your sword clasped in your hand. Are you like David running toward the front line to bring honor and glory to God at all cost without hesitation. The fight is coming! Arm yourself, because the battle is near!!!

Cats vs. Heels

WEll it is on today! Arizona Wildcats ranked #19 are at home against the North Carolina Tarheels ranked #4.
This should be a huge test for the cats who have shown that they can compete and win the big games but have struggled to stay consistent. UNC poses a great outside inside game that should keep Zona busy on defense. However they are playing in the desert, and Zona is extremely tough to play at home. I am calling it right now. Zona by 4. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Tadd!
Out!

Pray for the Heindel Family!!!!!

Well I am sure that you have already heard the terrible news, but if you have not then let me tell you what is going on.
Early this morning, or late last night Bob Heindel's sister was killed. She was found in her home this morning dead. The authorities are calling it a homicide, and they do already have one suspect in custody. I guess his sister was killed in a pretty horiffic way. The family was not aware of it at all until they saw the news early this morning. It is a terrible thing when someoen looses a loved one, but when a life is taken in this terrible way it makes it even harder.
Please don't just read this and consider praying, but rather DO pray for them at this very momment. The whole family is just terribly upset, and are looking for anwsers. Pray that some how some way God would reveal Him self to the entire family. I know God is in complete control, but I just don't understand why??? Please join me in lifting up this family that has done so much for some many of us and have also gave of themselves so much to our church family!
Thank you!
Rich

Like Father like Son

Need I say anymore?

Synergy week 2

Week 2.
Well this past tuesday went really well. Marty spoke, and it went well. We had 7 to 8 new people all of which were not part of the new 5 from last week. However of the 5 from last week 2 of them came back for a 2nd go around. Marty and I am meeting this Satruday afternoon to chat and brainstorm about this semester and where it is headed and where we want it to go. We really need your prayers that our thoughts would be ones that God has placed there. We want to continue to strive and stay focused on God and keep Him and His priorities infront of our own. The momment that we take control is the momment we take it out of His hands. This is something I can say from many attempts at some great ideas all of which were mine looking back, but thinking it was God. It is hard to know if it is from God unless you ask Him. It is really simple yet we or should I say "I" make it more difficult... Lets practice. "God what is it that you would have us to do"?
Thanks again for your prayers. I can feel your prayers each week in our group. Please continue to pray for us with reaching this age gap that has been over looked by many people.
God Bless!

Hello Sunshine!

Well this picture best sums up what I have been feeling like the past two days. The temperature has not been warm, but it has been warmer than 15 degrees! I am so excited to see spring this year. There are so many things I look forward to. I can't wait to mow the yard, plant some flowers and give our less than a year old lawn some food! I am really wanting to go camping at least 2 times this year... thats a plan Rob! Anyways, I never really was a fisher, but I would like to start doing it a bit more so when the boy is older I have some idea of what kind of bait to use. Just after saying the word "bait" a movie automatically popped up in my head... I will quote the line and you tell me what movie it goes with. I am actually laughing right now and I am having a hard time typing because my mind is so weird that everything I hear or say is in some way attached to a movie, but anyways here it goes

Old man says, "Are there any dam questions"?

Other man says, "Yeah where can I get some dam bait"? Now I am not one to swear and if you have seen this movie then you will realize that I am not swearing, but simply ... well let me know what the anwser is and you will win a prize! There's one for ya philly...

Let God and the Spirit move you.

Ok let me feel you in on how Synergy went last night. Freaking Awesome! We had a great turnout. In fact we had 5 more new people that have never attend our group before, one of which was from Sac Town (Sacramento) and then another girl that came once last year early on came again last night and I think will be continuing to come. We were still missing a bunch of our regulars, but that is to be expected, because it sometimes takes a week or two for students to get back into the swing of things. I thank you for your prayers. I spoke on Eleazar and the battle he had a Pas Dammim which was the same place where David fought Goliath. If you want to read about the story a bit it is in 2 Samuel Chapter 23:9-10. The lesson went very well. As I stepped out of the way God and the Holy Spirit took control. Those nights are the best ones. Well we also pray every Thursday morning at 7am on campus. I encouraged everyone there last night to come to the first one because during the year there is like five or six of us so it will be cool to see what the turnout is. Well thank you again for your prayers. I am off to read the Word! God Bless!

Synergy

Synergy - the total effect of a group working together is greater than the sum of the individual effort.

Jan. 16th 2007 @ 7pm - 1st meeting of our group "Synergy" at Boise State in 2007. I am speaking tomorrow, and I am pumped too see what God has in store for us this semester. As some of you probably know we officially combined two groups on campus which then became three groups on campus. The three churches recognized are Broadway Baptist, Eagle Christian, and Calvary Chapel of Boise. I am going to be speaking about Eleazar. I am really inspired by his warrior, and fearless mentality. It is a great story of how his sword and him become one. While spending the time really tearing this verse apart I can't help but be lifted, and almost get a cold chill down my spine. As we embark on this new semester, I ask for your continued prayers. As our group continues to grow, and if this semester is like last semester many new footsteps will continue to be drawn to the Lord and His Word. My prayer is that this semester we will see God take what we all learned last semester and grow upon it and put the words we hear and speak of into action. Let the generations that are upcoming be Godly leaders and mentors. I pray that we would begin to see a presence of our Lord in pockets around the campus. And as the pockets begin to penetrate what satan has placed his name and claim on that we will be able to wash away any imprint that he has on this campus with Christ's annointing blood. I love college students and I am truly blessed to be a small part in a battle that seems larger than life. We are on a very liberal campus! There was a boy that was jumped by another on campus one night last semester, and come to find out that the boy who was jumped was gay. Now I think it is terrible that this boy was jumped and I pray that this certain boy who claims to be gay would some day come to know the Lord. However since he was gay, there was a huge rally that was put on by I believe the students and the elected Student Body Members to make a statement that they think he should be treated equally as a straight would, and that he was only jumped because he was gay. Well I know of many people that were jumped in my day and all of them were straight, and I don't ever recall a huge rally of about a thousand students about the situation then, but for some reason or another there is one for this gay male. Well I pray that one day some students will rally and hold a rally about not teaching both evolution and about creation etc. I know this might seem a bit bold, but you understand what we are up against. My motto however is what it has always been... "kill them with kindness" it is hard for people not to like you or too down right hate you when you treat them like Christ would.

Spell check or proof read!

Ok well after reading my posts, I realized that I should probably go ahead and proof read my post before I submit them. So in the future you can plan on me proof reading all my entries before I submit them. I just get to far ahead of myself.
Late!

Man's best friend or mose expensive?

Well this is a question that I think most dog owners will ponder on. They say that dogs are man's best friend. Well I would have to agree with that phrase. I mean no matter how angry you get with them, maybe forget to give them there food one morning when you were late for work or maybe have failed to just take some time out of your week to run them at the park or nearby field etc,. there tails keep a waggin. I think that most of us could learn alot from our canine friends. They truly love unconditionaly. They only ask for a small token of your time, and without fail they love you and get so excited to see you. I think it is hillarious how my three dogs will start talking to me when I walk out to the kennel in our garage to let the dogs out. They just want to be loved by you and want to please you in any way they can. However on the flip side, they are also the most expensive friend I have ever had. I don't recall ever having to bail a friend out of jail... well not yet anyways! My brother in-law Jake told me one time that the cheapest thing about a dog especially a hunting dog is the amount of money you spend to purchase him or her. Well let me just say this... "point taken." My most recent pup "Husker" my english pointer got out of the backyard by climbing the fence. Well he did not turn up at all the entire day, so the next day I went to the pound and had to bail him out. To make things worse, I guess he got into a nearby yard where some folks had some chickens and you do the math. I later in the week went to appologize and try to offer to buy some chickens for the lady, but she said that there was not need because the rooster that he ate was a family pet of 7 years. I almost started laughing inside. My crazy dog is just so full of energy! Let me put it this way. Husker makes coffee extremely nervous.
$575 to buy your first hunting dog
$300 to buy wireless collar
$135 to purchase hunting license in OR and ID
$130 to pay for vaccines
$35 to buy more wire for kennel where dog chewed threw metal
$125 to replace sprinkler line, sprinkler head, and two new shrubs eaten by dog
$45 to get dog out of pound
1 dead 7 year old rooster and your hunting dogs first kill - PRICELESS!

Fiesta Bowl 2007

Well what can I say? It has been four days since it all went down. The first pic is the view we had from our seats. I have to send out a shout to my boy Jarett for getting us such great tics! The pic doesn't really do the seats justice. The action was closer than it appears. I am just glad that I made the trip and that my wife let me go. Thanks to all of you who gave me money for Christmas to make this life changing experience happen. It is great when something comes along and touches all of our lives at the same time. It was interesting to find out that every single person that I spoke with about the game said the same thing. "It made me feel like I was 12 all over again!" I have to agree with the congregation. It is something I will never forget as long as I live and to think that this could be one of the best games ever played in the history of college football. One quick not I just heard today that our Offensive cordinator Coach Harsin just turned down
the offensive cordinator job that was offered to him by new Alabama Head Coach "Coach Saban". Wow that is crazy to think that he turned down a position like that in Alabama to stay at Boise State.
For those of you that missed it I strongly encourage you to follow and support the Broncos next year and then take a few road trips with them on the road. They were alot of fun to follow this year and will be even better next year. Go Broncos!
